Montefano Carradori Olivi Building

This is one of the oldest buildings in Montefano. It went to the Olivi family during the second half of the Nineteenth century. Today, the building houses the Town Hall and is articulated on three floors and a basement. The façade is simple and linear marked by three cornices. The main entrance, with a semicircular arched portal, features a moulded cornice decorated with 18th century square ashlars. The noble floor is embellished with refined pictorial decorations from the 18th century, visible on the ceiling of six rooms. The former stock rooms are striking with cross vaults, interspersed with lowered semicircular arches. A steep staircase, with a barrel vault, leads us into the grotto below, inside which is a niche used as a cooling room.
